Home sellers are dismayed when I bring up the P word.  Paint.  A great professional paint job can do wonders for your home and yield a great return on your investment. Select a professional to do the job. As with any service, not all bids are created equal. The professional I use always applies 2 coats, his work is seamless and the price is very cost effective.  Choose a light neutral color in a flat finish for walls and ceilings. The background it creates will help prospective buyers to imagine their furniture and belongings in your home. It adds to the feeling that your home is clean and cared for. Remove your artwork and pack it up. Patch the holes and repair any imperfections. These simple steps can do more to expedite the sale than anything else in the preparation process.
